A Fascination With Pilots and Their Jobs

Lately, there appears to be a fascination with pilots and their jobs, as evidenced by the surge in threads in the TravelBuzz! forum on FlyerTalk regarding this very topic.

Here are three examples:

  • Sat in the Pilot seat! – This thread discusses the thrill of sitting in a seat reserved only for pilots or flight crew while the aircraft is in flight or on approach to landing at an airport. I must admit that I have experienced this rare opportunity myself, and nothing compares to it. Do not pass up this opportunity if you are fortunate enough to have it presented to you!
  • How do pilots eat? – “By opening their mouths, inserting food, chewing, and swallowing,” says FlyerTalk member altaskier. While virtually everybody can agree with that observation and assessment, FlyerTalk member magiciansampras asks this question because he does not recall seeing any tray tables whenever he peaks into the cockpit.
  • Must pilots climb over controls to sit?… – I know the answer to this question from personal experience, but I am not going to spoil it for you if you are interested in finding out the answer.

This is just a sampling of threads regarding pilots and their jobs, and this is only in the TravelBuzz! forum on FlyerTalk. Please read and participate in the above threads, find an existing thread, or start your own thread regarding pilots and their jobs if one does not already exist.

I love reading your blog. You seem like a natural in sharing your experiences. I am starting my blog as well, do you think only natural writers can have something to share?
