Death in Airport Bathroom Raises Question: Should More of the Funds Being Spent on Security Be Used For Safety?

When a Passenger Dies in Bathroom – No Medics arrived in time to save the life of a 39-year-old woman who was reportedly unable to breathe — the question about whether or not at least part of the amount of money being spent on Transportation Security Administration, or TSA, personnel could be spent more wisely on funding more emergency response personnel and equipment at domestic airports in the United States is being raised.

The mother, on her way to visit her son to celebrate his birthday, supposedly waited in a restroom at Philadelphia International Airport nearly 40 minutes until medical treatment finally arrived — albeit reportedly too late to save her life.

Could this tragedy have been prevented?
