Details of My “Exclusive” Offer From Alitalia

A n e-mail message with the title Only for you 5,000 bonus miles! was sent to me earlier this morning from Programma MilleMiglia, which is the frequent flier loyalty program of Alitalia.

Here it is verbatim:

Dear ,

The MilleMiglia Program rewards its new members!

Join now free of charge and you can earn a special Welcome Bonus of 5,000 miles.

Thanks to this exclusive bonus you can already request your first award: a 25€ discount, with Cash&Miles, to be used to purchase an Alitalia ticket**.

Or you can continue accruing the miles in your MilleMiglia account and use them to choose among the other MilleMiglia awards. For example with just 12,000 miles you can already get an Award Ticket.

With the MilleMiglia Program you earn miles not only when you fly, but also in your everyday life: when you stay at any partner hotel, rent a car, go shopping or use your credit card.

Join the MilleMiglia Program now and earn your special 5,000 miles bonus!

See you onboard!

*In order to earn the Welcome Bonus, new members must take their first flight or use a service of Alitalia and its Partners, within 3 months from the enrollment date.
**Discount valid for a minimum purchase of 100€.

Yes, my name was left out of the e-mail message — I did not delete it here in this article. I suppose it was too much trouble to type five letters of either my first name or my last name with a salutation in front of it.

  1. I would to remind everyone that these miles expire every year so use with care. I find it funny because they expire because it’s supposed to be for your own good because of some Italian law

    1. Brian Cohen says:

That is funny, Howtofreetravel. Thank you for imparting that!

  2. Joey says:

I’m a MilleMiglia member and didn’t get this offer! Must be *exclusive* to you! 😉

I am planning to fly Alitalia early next year and am looking forward to trying Magnifica class!

    1. Brian Cohen says:

I think you will like it, Joey.

It has been a number of years; but I enjoyed both their premium class product between Toronto and Rome as well as between Italy and France and Malta as a couple of examples.

That flight on which I was a passenger in the economy class cabin earlier this month was the first time I did not enjoy being a passenger on a flight operated by Alitalia.

  3. Al says:

Well, when I went to Alitalia site to sign up for a new membership, it only mentioned 2000 miles welcome bonus, not the additional 3000 miles. Can you post the link to this offer??

    1. Brian Cohen says:

I was going to post the link; but the offer must have changed, because I now see the same offer instead of what I originally received, Al.

      Interesting…
