Summary

With 50,000 Hyatt Gold Passport points, you can either enjoy two award nights in a standard room at a Category Six hotel or resort property; or you can stay in a suite for at least one night anywhere in the world and still have points left over — both of which I believe are significantly more valuable overall than 31,250 AAdvantage miles when all of the bonuses are included, as those miles can get for you at best an award trip within the United States and Canada excluding Hawaii.

Another factor is that you will still have to pay taxes and fees on your award ticket with American Airlines; whereas a stay at a Hyatt hotel or resort property can be completely free on an award stay. Insignificant as that may be, that further increases the value of Hyatt Gold Passport points over AAdvantage miles pertaining to this promotion.

For those reason alone, I personally will not participate in this promotion.
