Free New Music Fridays With Marriott Rewards

id you know that you can score some new music without paying a single penny for it simply by being a member of the Marriott Rewards frequent guest loyalty program?

Free New Music Fridays With Marriott Rewards

Marriott International has teamed up with Universal Music Group to give music downloads to you: one code is worth ten complimentary song downloads for your music playlist; and the codes will be given away to the first 10,000 eligible members of the Marriott Rewards frequent guest loyalty program for a limited time. All you have to do is sign into your Marriott Rewards frequent guest loyalty program account — either through the official Internet web site of Marriott Rewards where I received my code; or via Facebook — or join if you are not already a member; and you are ready to add new songs to your playlist.

You must be a legal resident of — and physically located within — the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, and territories of the United States.

For the purpose of this promotion, song downloads from the massive catalog of Universal Music Group spans all of its labels — including Capitol Music Group, Interscope Records, Def Jam Recordings, Republic Records and Universal Music Group Nashville.

One very minor negative aspect to this offer is that the songs cannot be downloaded to portable electronic devices using the iOS system software; which means that you will need to download them onto a desktop computer or laptop computer. As I do that anyway with all songs which I obtain, that really is no big deal — I just simply transfer whichever songs I want with me onto my portable electronic devices as necessary.

The code you will receive is case sensitive; and it expires on Thursday, June 30, 2016. You are eligible for a new code every Friday.

“Access to the newest releases every week means you’ll have the perfect soundtrack for life’s epic moments. And when you follow us @marriottrewards, you’ll be the first to know about exclusive on-property concerts, ticket offers and meet-and-greets.” That sounds similar to the partnership between Hilton Worldwide and Live Nation, of which I had the pleasure of attending a Neon Trees and Elliot Root concert at the historic Washington Hilton hotel.

Select Terms and Conditions

No exchanges or returns are permitted; and codes may not be redeemed or exchanged for cash. The number of song downloads available for each code may vary for each promotion. Any personal data relating to participants will be used solely in accordance with current data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party — other than the agencies of the sponsor for the purpose of servicing or implementing the offer — without your prior consent.

Other terms and conditions apply.

Summary

I did not know about this benefit until I read about it through this article written by Ric Garrido of Loyalty Traveler. Although I do receive e-mail messages from Marriott Rewards, I checked my e-mail messages and did not find anything pertaining to free music. It would have been nice to have received some official advance notice pertaining to this promotion.

Otherwise, this sounds like a nice promotion from Marriott Rewards; and if you qualify to participate and enjoy music, you should consider taking advantage of this offer.

My code has been sent to me; but I have not downloaded any songs yet. You do not have to request a code on Friday — I requested mine earlier tonight, which is Sunday — that is simply the day when a new code is released. If I stumble onto any anomalies about which you should know, I intend to let you know about them…

That may be more due to laws or restrictions rather than a corporate decision, Barry Parsons — but I am not sure.
