Music Happens Here With Hilton Honors: Exclusive Access to Once in a Lifetime Experiences

E ffective as of today, Hilton has partnered with Live Nation and Spotify to launch a new integrated music platform called Music Happens Here program — with the promise of more access to top concerts, more private meet-and-greets with chart-topping artists, more one-on-one artist experiences, and more private concerts through the auction platform for members of the Hilton Honors frequent guest loyalty program.

Hilton celebrated the launch of the Music Happens Here program last night with a private kick-off event and an intimate performance by One Republic on the rooftop terrace of The Beverly Hilton hotel property.

Music Happens Here With Hilton Honors: Exclusive Access to Once in a Lifetime Experiences

Music Happens Here includes an original video series to be found exclusively on Spotify — the first episode is expected sometime next month — giving audiences an insider’s guide to some of the most quintessential places where music has been created, performed and celebrated; as well as both literally and figuratively giving members of the Hilton Honors frequent guest loyalty program front-row access to some of the greatest moments in music.

Many of those places have been at Hilton hotel and resort properties — such as the Neon Trees and Elliot Root concert which I attended at the historic Washington Hilton hotel property as one example.

Corresponding playlists to guide listeners on a walking tour of the featured cities and the places where music actually happened, is happening and will continue to happen will accompany the video series.

Recent Hilton Honors experiences have included — but were not limited to — the following:

  • Private concerts with Jason Derulo, Halsey, Elle King, Kip Moore and Gary Clark, Jr.
  • Spa sessions with Kelsea Ballerini, Tinashe and Colbie Callet
  • Backstage access with Andra Day, Barenaked Ladies, and Imagine Dragons
  • Dance lessons with Derek and Julianne Hough and Maks & Val Chmerkovskiy
  • Music lessons with Mick Fleetwood, Mike Posner, Christina Perri and Cody Simpson

Summary

The Music Happens Here program expounds upon the Hilton @Play initiative, which resulted as a partnership where Hilton Worldwide became the official hotel partner and sponsor of Live Nation as part of a broad commitment with a duration of at least five years.

Hilton Honors is attempting to up the ante in terms of engaging its members with music experiences which sound exciting and fun…

…but I do have one item on my wish list which would result in an even more valuable Music Happens Here program, in my opinion: for most of the year in 2016, the Marriott Rewards frequent guest loyalty program had a great promotion called New Music Fridays where its members could download up to ten songs per week from virtually every genre at no charge — and members had access to what seemed like the entire music library of literally thousands of songs of Universal Music Group. New Music Fridays sadly ended on Saturday, December 31, 2016; and my remaining codes are no longer valid.

If only Hilton Honors would match or surpass New Music Fridays
