My Flight Reservation Disappeared — While I Was Flying?!?

W ell, this is bizarre: it is 5:48 in the morning here at Schiphol Airport here in Amsterdam on my way from Nariobi to Muscat through New York and Washington, D.C. — don’t ask, as I am known for these itineraries — and my flight reservation disappeared. Simply vanished. Somewhere between Nairobi and Amsterdam.

I have my boarding passes. That did not help.

This makes no sense. This has never happened to me before.

I am not worried that I will not get to New York, as I am certain that this will be sorted out by boarding time.

  1. Good luck! KLM Customer Service are famously hard to engage with when things go wrong. I hope you’re not having to deal with them.
    Seem to be seats on the DL to JFK at 1035 and to EWR at 1250.

  2. Did you post your ticket on a social media ? Did you loose a boarding pass at the airport ?
    It is scary how easy it is to access (and cancel) a reservation with a simple pnr or etix.

  4. Wow, hope it gets sorted out! Wonder if that is a new Delta thing – they don’t like the price you paid for the ticket, they will just make it disappear. 🙂

  5. Good luck Brian! Will you be in Muscat next week? I’ll be there at the Grand Hyatt if you want to have a beer to de-stress! Perhaps not… That’s quite a routing, makes my head spin! 😉 happy travels

    1. I am scheduled to arrive in Muscat on February 11, Andy; and I have a reservation at that Hyatt hotel property for one night arriving on February 12. I am scheduled to leave on February 15.

      If you are available, let us get together — I would look forward to it!

      As for the routing, I thrive on that. My head needs to be examined…

      1. Ahh…shame I get there on Feb16th! I would have loved to have heard all about how you plan these convoluted routings and to have met you. Obviously an aspect of mileage running if you can still call it that? If you’re at the GH only for 1 night, a chase anniversary free night perhaps? Lucky was just there and kindly emailed me back saying it was a cool property. Anyhoo… Hope you have a great time. Cheers
