An Odd Promotion: Get a $25 Best Western Gift Card When You Check Baggage and Complete a Stay

You are limited to two travel cards during the promotion period — meaning that you can earn up to a maximum of $50.00.

The promotional travel cards — which will be sent electronically to your e-mail address on file on or around Monday, October 16, 2017 — expire on Wednesday, January 31, 2018; and expiration dates will be stated on travel cards.

Select Terms and Conditions

Eligible nights or flights started or completed prior to or after the promotion period will not count towards satisfying the promotion requirements. If you are not yet a member of the Best Western Rewards  frequent guest loyalty program, you can enroll here — but you must be a member prior to the first eligible night during your stay. No extensions, substitutions, or replacements will be available.

An eligible stay — for the purpose of this promotion — is defined as one or more consecutive nights at the same hotel property branded as Best Western at a rate eligible for earning points or earning airline or partner rewards through the Best Western Rewards frequent guest loyalty program. Exceptions of a stay include reservations booked through an Internet travel agency; a tour operator; and at a special discounted rate. You are permitted to check in and check out of the hotel property only once per qualified stay — meaning that two consecutive nights at a hotel property will not constitute two consecutive stays. Eligible stays which take place during the promotion period where the date of when you check in or check out of the hotel property overlaps the beginning or ending of the promotion period will be counted towards the promotion.

This promotion is not valid with any other offer, promotion, or discount. This promotion is non-transferable; and is subject to cancellation or change without notice. Travel cards will not be sent via mail or any other means other than to your e-mail address as registered in your membership account profile.

All Best Western Rewards frequent guest loyalty program rules, terms and conditions apply; and all travel card rules, terms and conditions apply.

All Best Western Rewards members are eligible to participate in this promotion; and all stays must be completed at a Best Western branded hotel property in North America.

Summary

“Expensive baggage fees can make packing a stressful ordeal. Best Western® Hotels & Resorts wants to make your next trip a little less stressful. See how you can get a $25 Best Western gift card just for checking your bags.”

That is the marketing line for this odd offer known as the BW Baggage Bucks promotion. I have never paid a fee for baggage whenever I travel — mostly because I carry my belongings aboard the airplane; but also because of elite level status — so this promotion is completely useless to me.

Even if I have satisfied all of the requirements of this promotion, having to photograph or scan my receipts and send them via e-mail message is not what I consider the best use of my time — especially when the travel cards are only valid for 107 days at the most.

Nevertheless, if you find yourself satisfying all of the requirements of this promotion, do consider taking advantage of it. Otherwise, I personally would not recommend going out of your way to invest the time, money and effort which is required in participating in this promotion.

I do give the team at Best Western Rewards credit for devising a unique promotion when compared to the competition, though — for what that is worth…

…but in my opinion, you are better off participating in this current promotion with which you can earn a travel card worth up to $20.00 for each night you stay with Best Western.
