Strike On For Tomorrow at Ben Gurion International Airport

A  strike was announced by employees at Ben Gurion International Airport to go into effect on Thursday, September 18, 2014 between the hours of 11:00 in the morning and 2:00 in the afternoon, possibly affecting as many as 70 flights.

According to this article in The Jerusalem Post, the strike is the result of an act of solidarity with employees of the Israel Postal Company.

Back in July, many airlines had suspended flights to Ben Gurion International Airport due to security reasons as a result of civil unrest — most notably, reports of a rocket or associated debris supposedly launched from the Gaza Strip and landed in Yehud near the airport.

If you are traveling to or from Tel Aviv by airplane within the next 24 hours, be aware that your flight could be affected. Check with your airline for information and details of the possibility of a service disruption.
