Are Dual-Branded Hotel Properties Becoming More Popular?

Ground was broken in March on 14 Street in midtown Atlanta for a new building costing $70 million which will house both AC Hotel by Marriott and Moxy hotel — two of the 30 lodging brands of Marriott International, Incorporated.

It is expected to open during 2018; and the two hotels — AC Hotel by Marriott will be comprised of 133 rooms; while Moxy hotel will accommodate guests in 155 rooms — will share a deck-top amenity space that includes a rooftop pool and bar.

Shopping Option Eliminated Without Notice to Earn Marriott Rewards Points

ShopMyWay is an Internet shopping portal which offered a way to earn Marriott Rewards points by shopping for items which you would purchase anyway at many retailers. Weeks would elapse until points were credited to a Marriott Rewards account; but it was an inexpensive way to keep Marriott Rewards points from expiring ever since a new expiration policy for Marriott Rewards points was announced back in August of 2015 and became effective as of Monday, February 1, 2016.

Prior to that expiration policy becoming effective, Marriott Rewards points generally did not expire.

Check Your Hotel Reservations — The Cancellation Policy May Have Changed

“My upcoming reservation in DC went from one day cancellation when it was booked to now showing two day cancellation.”

This observation posted by FlyerTalk member Tanic is only one of a number of acknowledgements by members of FlyerTalk that the cancellation policies of a number of hotel and resort properties of Marriott International, Incorporated have quietly changed from canceling a hotel reservation 24 hours prior to checking in without paying a penalty to a minimum of 48 hours — and with no advance notice or announcement — in certain locations.
