The LAX Encounter Restaurant & Bar. I decided to check it out with a few friends on a Thanksgiving excursion. I’ve lived in L.A. for nearly 10 years and it’s been under construction for a good portion of those years — and it still is. It’s an eye sore from the outside and while the elevator and inside decor is a kind of Jetson-60s style kitschy-ness the food is HIGHLY overrated. That and getting back to your terminal can be a truck, especially if you’re departing via Tom Bradley. I LOVE living and working in Los Angeles, but traveling from LAX is an embarrassment — and Encounters even trumps that. Go figure.
