1,000 Bonus Starpoints to Go Keyless — But…

“E arn 1,000 bonus Starpoints: Download our app.” That was in an e-mail message with the title 1,000 Reasons to use Keyless which was sent to me — so I clicked on the link in the e-mail message, which brought me to these instructions on how to go keyless with Starwood Preferred Guest.

I was initially hesitant to post this promotion because I did not know if it was targeted and not open to everyone. I saw no place to register; and the aforementioned Internet web site gives no indication pertaining to earning 1,000 bonus Starpoints.

Eventually, I decided to post this article anyway in the hopes that you can benefit from it. If for some reason you are not eligible to take advantage of this promotion, please accept my apologies.

The graphic at the top of this article was also at the top of the e-mail message which I received; and the following graphic below basically comprises the remainder of the e-mail message:

Starwood Preferred Guest Keyless Bonus 1,000 Starpoints

The Aloft Seoul Gangnam — I stayed there several months ago and posted a review in this article — is one of the greater than 135 hotel properties participating in the keyless program. I would have tried it out and posted my experience as part of the review if this offer were available at the time I stayed there.

Frequently asked questions pertaining to the keyless program are found here.

As I said, I am not sure if this promotion is limited to a targeted audience; and if you are not eligible to participate now, I do not know if you will be eligible to participate in the future if you choose not to sign up for it now — but I thought that I would at least let you know about it…

…but I intend to participate in this promotion to get 1,000 bonus Starpoints for a few minutes of my time…

I got a “1,500” offer, though it was really 500 per stay up to 3 times. Problem is most all of the places I stay don’t participate in keyless so probably won’t be able to use it.

That sounds like a different offer to me, Glenn.

If I correctly read the offer sent to me, it seems that I do not have to stay anywhere to earn those 1,000 Starpoints…

Brian, just an FYI….in google play where the SPG app can be downloaded, I see many comments from people saying the keyless function isn’t supported for their phone. Many new phones like the Samsung Galaxy s6 and Note 4 just to name two. Thanks for the post.

…and thank you for the heads-up, Captain Kirk. That is good information about which to potentially be aware.

  3. Raffles says:

I was targetted for this and, impressively, the points hit within 24 hours.

Registering is also amazingly painless. Click register and it does it! No messing around with PIN numbers sent to your phone etc!

    1. Brian Cohen says:

Thank you for reporting your experience, Raffles.

Would it not be nice if registering for other promotions would equally be as painless?

      Ah, but to dream…
