20 Percent Bonus AAdvantage or Dividend Miles When Converted From Starwood Points
Through July 31, 2014, you will earn a bonus of 20 percent on US Airways Dividend Miles or American Airlines AAdvantage frequent flier loyalty program miles for every 20,000 Starwood Preferred Guest frequent guest loyalty program points you convert.
This means that — as an example — you will receive 30,000 American Airlines AAdvantage frequent flier loyalty program miles instead of the usual 25,000 miles; and they will be posted to your account within seven business days after the initial conversion activity has been posted by Starwood Preferred Guest…
…and according to FlyerTalk member mahasamatman, you can earn “up to a maximum of 1,860,000 (60,000 per day) that gets you 2,790,000.”
Although exclaiming that this promotion is “huge”, FlyerTalk member NYCtraveler warns that “AA already devalued the AAdvantage program with their new award structure for AA metal. The OneWorld chart has not yet been tweaked….It’s coming for sure as StarA changed their award levels significantly last year. I recently flew HKG-JFK via Korea using United miles on Asiana which cost 130,000 miles. This same ticket on Cathay using AA miles in First Class is 67,500. I believe the other shoe will drop in August/September after this ‘filler up’ round” and advises “I would book your flights soon!!!”
That is probably not bad advice to consider.
To qualify for this bonus offer, you must be in good standing in the US Airways Dividend Miles or American Airlines AAdvantage frequent flier loyalty programs. You may convert multiple times throughout the duration of this promotion.
This offer is non-transferable and non-reversible. Bonus miles earned in this promotion do not count toward elite status qualification; and this bonus applies to regular mileage transfers and not to Nights & Flights awards. Other terms and conditions apply.
