$200 For a Trip to Italy and Unlimited Pasta for Eight Weeks in 2017? Yes — But…

…and in a new twist like with a fork to spaghetti, $200.00 gets you a Never Ending Pasta Pass and a trip to Italy for eight days and seven nights — but there are several catches to this offer:

  • You must be able to travel on Saturday, April 7, 2018 — with arrival in Italy on the next day — and return on Saturday, April 14, 2018
  • Only 50 people and their guests will be able to purchase this special pass…
  • …and you and a guest will be traveling with 98 other people — if you are fortunate enough to secure a pass before they virtually immediately sell out
  • Exactly where in Italy you will be visiting; where you will be staying overnight for seven nights; and on which airline you will be flying as a passenger is unknown — and you do not get to decide

Details of This Promotion

The link to this deal will be available on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 1:30 in the afternoon Eastern Daylight Time; and the sale starts promptly at 2:00 in the afternoon.

In 2015, all 2,000 Never Ending Pasta Passes were claimed in one second — which is why you are getting this notice in advance. Last year, 21,000 passes were available and scooped up quickly. This year, 22,000 Never Ending Pasta Passes will be available for $100.00 — plus 50 additional passes which include a trip to Italy for one week for $200.00 — but the sale will only be available via the official Internet web site of this promotion for 30 minutes at the maximum or until the Never Ending Pasta Passes sell out, whichever comes first. There is a limit of one Never Ending Pasta Pass per transaction; and you will be able to purchase a Never Ending Pasta Pass for someone else instead of yourself, if you prefer.

The Never Ending Pasta Bowl starts at $9.99 — which means that if you had one meal per day for eight weeks, that comes out to as low as $1.78 per meal. You would need to eat a Never Ending Pasta Bowl at Olive Garden at least ten times to break even.

When compared to last year, this offer lasts one week longer; has 1,000 more passes available; includes soup, salad and breadsticks but not unlimited soft drinks for you and guests at the table; has 50 additional passes which includes the trip to Italy; and includes a new sauce on the menu — but if past years have set any precedent, expect all 22,050 passes to sell out almost immediately.

This could be a good offer when traveling around the United States and you want to fill up by eating without “breaking the bank” and first thinking about where to eat; but I have more fingers on both of my hands than times at which I dined at an Olive Garden — so I most likely will not participate in this offer, which some people might find cheesy…

…and although a trip to Italy for an additional $100.00 sounds like a fantastic deal — I do wonder exactly what you get for that extra $100.00 — I have been to Italy almost as many times as I have been to an Olive Garden restaurant; so this offer is not exactly appealing to me — especially with the thought of traveling with 99 other people for a week. I usually do not like tour groups — or an atmosphere of a similar facsimile thereof…

…but then again, what are you sup pasta do?!?

This is the end of the article; but if you are a gluten for punishment, below once again is my song parody of It’s Impossible — with absolutely no apologies by Perry Como — in honor of this deal.

Sauce — er…I mean Source: Olive Garden.

It’s In Pasta Bowl

It’s in pasta bowl, where spaghetti meets the sauce
It’s just in pasta bowl
It’s in pasta bowl, next to salad which is tossed
It’s just in pasta bowl

Can I order fettuccine
Or perhaps rigatoni
Split the meal — I am not permitted to do
With what’s in pasta bowl

Can the diners keep from rushing to the door
It’s just in pasta bowl
If I had meatballs, all I would want is more
It’s just in pasta bowl

And tomorrow
Should you ask me to eat at Olive Garden again
I would tell you yes, just let me know when
Don’t want to live without my
Never Ending Pasta Bowl

Asiago garlic alfredo is nice if
It’s just in pasta bowl
But five cheese marinara will suffice if
It’s just in pasta bowl

And tomorrow
Should I want more angel hair to eat, I would get it
I would eat too much and live to regret it
I just really enjoy my
Never Ending Pasta Bowl
In pasta bowl, mmm
In pasta bowl
