2015 TalkBoard Elections: Call for Candidates
I f you have ever wanted to serve FlyerTalk as a member of TalkBoard, now is your chance, as you can be one of five FlyerTalk members to be elected by a popular vote — but you must apply by 8:00 in the evening Pacific Standard Time on Sunday, November 8, 2015 to be considered as a candidate.
Here is the timetable of the TalkBoard elections for 2015:

Period of the acceptance of applications for openings of the five new TalkBoard members.
Monday, November 9, 2015 — Thursday, November 12, 2015
A period of four days where candidates answer questions from members sent to the community director of FlyerTalk. Send your questions via e-mail message to firstname.lastname@example.org for the candidates to answer.
Friday, November 13, 2015 — Monday, November 23, 2015
Voting will begin on Friday, November 13, 2015 and end Monday, November 23, 2015 at midnight Pacific Standard Time.
FlyerTalk continues to grow as a community; and you can play an important role towards guiding and improving FlyerTalk for the future — while helping to keep it as the number one place on the Internet to discuss miles, points and loyalty programs — by volunteering to become a TalkBoard member. The TalkBoard is a member-elected board which represents a wide cross-section of FlyerTalk members and provides direction and decisions on issues that affect the FlyerTalk community as a whole. Once you are elected by fellow FlyerTalk members, you will represent them on recommending decisions to the community director with regard to the management, organization and content of FlyerTalk.
You are encouraged to run for a chance to become one of five newly-elected TalkBoard members and serve a two-year term — especially if you are based outside of the United States. You must be able to listen to many contradictory opinions and form your own as a result. You must also have a “thick skin” during those times when fellow FlyerTalk members might think you are not acting fast enough — or you are acting too fast — that you can persevere in doing what is right for FlyerTalk.
If you do decide to be a candidate, good luck to you!
Trivia: At least five “bloggers” at BoardingArea and Prior2Boarding have served on TalkBoard over the years, with three of them serving at the same time at one point. Can you guess who they are?
