I would have suspected the same thing, if only because the link leads to an Internet web site which uses the now-former American Airlines logotype. However, several FlyerTalk members have confirmed that this offer is indeed legitimate.
Although there are terms and conditions involved with participating in this bizarre offer, no expiration date has been set — to my knowledge, anyway.
My best advice is to just take a moment and find out whether or not you are one of the fortunate people who can take AAdvantage of this offer for 500 American Airlines AAdvantage frequent flier loyalty program miles — and if you are, a couple of minutes of your time at the most is all of the effort that should be required on your part to receive those 500 American Airlines AAdvantage frequent flier loyalty program miles.
However, the time and effort involved to find out the mystery of in which countries this offer is valid is not worth the 500 American Airlines AAdvantage frequent flier loyalty program miles. I just hope that everything regarding this offer is resolved by the time you read this…
