American Airlines Announces Amenities, Turndown Service Upgraded for International Flights
American Airlines officially announced their new amenity package and turndown service for international travel on long-haul Boeing 777 aircraft, Boeing 767-300 aircraft, and select flights to and from Europe on Boeing 757 aircraft. Items included in the amenity package and turndown service are shown in the photograph.
First Class customers traveling onboard Boeing 777 aircraft between the United States and London Heathrow Airport starting on September 1, 2011 will receive a quilted bed topper, pajamas and slippers as part of the new turndown service. A lightweight day blanket, new premium duvet and pillow, and a new amenity kit features a bag with skin-care products and other travel necessities.
Customers traveling in the Business Class cabin on-board American Airlines flights between the United States and London Heathrow Airport operated by Boeing 777 aircraft, Boeing 767-300 aircraft and international Boeing 757 aircraft starting on September 1, 2011 can enjoy a new premium duvet and pillow, slippers and amenity kit.
The full suite of products — including the turndown service — will be in the First Class cabins on-board all international American Airlines flights operated by Boeing 777 aircraft beginning October 1, 2011. Also on October 1, 2011, Business Class cabins on-board all international American Airlines flights operated by Boeing 777 aircraft and Boeing 767-300 aircraft, in addition to select American Airlines flights to and from Europe operated by Boeing 757 aircraft, will begin offering the new premium duvet and pillow, slippers, and amenity kit.
While a turndown service of this magnitude is a first for an airline based in the United States in decades, some FlyerTalk members report that the slippers and pajamas seem a bit cheap in terms of quality, but the pajamas are for the passenger to keep.
