This SkyMiles sale is unusual in that flights are not to one particular region; but rather to select destinations scattered around the world. Use the former award chart shown above loosely as a reference to see whether or not the flight route in which you are interested is a comparably good deal.

  1. Delta Dawg says:

All of you travel bloggers are missing the picture. You are pumping this high-value, low-cost image for SkyMiles marketers when all they are doing is listing dynamically-priced, one-week “deals” with limited availability in the face of ridiculously priced “normal” point fares. It’s the equivalent of Car Dealers driving traffic but never having what you want available.

Instead of pumping the deal, you should be calling them on the carpet!

This is image pricing and not promotions that mileage travelers will find valuable. I suspect the Delta “data team” have established automatic algorithms searching for lowest likely redemption route/date combinations so that marketing can promote these deals using “influencer media” like you.

    1. Brian Cohen says:

First of all, Delta Dawg, I do not consider myself to be an “influencer” in the media. All I try to do is impart deals, news and information which I hope is helpful to readers of The Gate.

Second, have you actually checked the SkyMiles deals from Delta Air Lines? At times, the redemption price of SkyMiles with one of these deals is actually lower than what is advertised — and with plenty of availability.

One recent example is that one of these deals was actually available for only 9,000 SkyMiles round trip.

Finally, if you are a regular reader of The Gate, you would have seen plenty of articles over the years calling travel companies “out on the carpet” — including those with whom I have affiliate links; and including Delta Air Lines, with whom I have no affiliate links.
