As Low as 35,000 SkyMiles Round Trip Within the United States: Delta Domestic First Class Sale January 2018 — Or $418

…but you must purchase your ticket and book your reservation no later than Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at 11:59 in the evening Eastern Standard Time; and you must stay over a Friday or Saturday and a maximum of 30 days. Award seats are limited and may not be available on all flights or in all markets.

If you would rather pay with money, flights operated by Delta Air Lines between the 48 contiguous United States can cost as low as $418.00 round trip. Fares are valid in the first class cabin on Delta Air Lines, Delta Connection carriers, and certain codeshare partner flights only Monday through Thursday. Higher fares apply for travel on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

The class of service included in this promotion is first class only on flights which are operated by Delta Air Lines or by a carrier operating as Delta Connection or Delta Shuttle — such as Compass Airlines; Endeavor Air, Incorporated; ExpressJet Airlines, Incorporated; GoJet Airlines, Republic Airline, and SkyWest.

Promotional pricing in terms of revenue is currently not available between Minneapolis and Salt Lake City during April 19 – 22, 2019.

Cancellations, Refunds, Changes, Transfers, and Other Terms and Conditions

Refunds are not permitted on tickets except in accordance with the cancellation policy of Delta Air Lines.

Fees may apply for downgrades or reissued tickets and itinerary changes.

Changes to award tickets must occur at least 72 hours prior to the departure time of the flight being changed. Award tickets booked within 72 hours of departure are not refundable and cannot be redeposited or reissued unless prohibited by local law or within the risk-free cancellation period. No changes will be permitted to the originating flight of award tickets booked within 72 hours; however, changes to the return are permitted if the return flight is not within 72 hours and the change is made at least 72 hours prior to flight departure. Fees apply for any changes; and taxes and fees will apply. Voluntary changes to award tickets after this promotion has ended may result in an increase in the cost of SkyMiles.

Promotional redemption amounts are subject to availability and seats available at promotional award prices are limited. Pay with Miles tickets are not eligible for promotional redemption amounts.

This offer cannot be transferred.

Summary

I have staunchly opined publicly for years that airfares should not be advertised each way based on a required round trip purchase. If an airline wants to advertise airfares one way, that should only be if the customer can purchase the ticket for a flight one way — not be based on the purchase of a round-trip itinerary, which is required for this particular sale.

This sale is also bizarre in the fact that it is only valid for flights during only nine days in April of 2019.

A typical award ticket within the 48 continuous United States in the first class cabin used to cost 50,000 SkyMiles round-trip when award charts used to exist; so portions of this sale is fairly reasonable — if you can take advantage of the 35,000 minimum redemption of SkyMiles…

…but not all aspects of this sale are exactly a bargain; so ensure that you are getting what you believe is the best value for your money or your SkyMiles.
