Sample fares shown in the chart below also include all airport or government fees and taxes of up to $166.00 — depending on routing — which encompasses the Passenger Facility Charge of $4.50 and the September 11 Security Fee of $5.60 per person per enplanement in the United States to a maximum of $10.00. Taxes are subject to currency exchange fluctuation and may vary from the estimated taxes shown. Additional baggage charges may apply.

Fares shown are valid for travel from Monday to Thursday on the trans-Pacific sector. A surcharge of up to $50.00 per direction for Economy; up to $100.00 per direction for Premium Economy; and up to $500.00 per direction in Business Premier applies for travel from Friday to Sunday on the trans-Pacific sector. Fares are subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time.

All monetary figures — including airfares, taxes and fees — are in United States dollars.

Summer Sale discounts apply to round-trip adult fares for originating in the US to New Zealand and Australia booked on www.airnewzealand.com. Discounts do not apply for child, infant, one-way, round-the-world, Circle Pacific, travel agent or airline industry fares. Offers are subject to availability and may change at any time.

Ticket must be purchased at least two days prior to travel. Flight reservations which are booked online must be purchased immediately with a credit card. Prices are in United States dollars and offer is available in the United States only. Electronic Tickets will be issued on all eligible routes and sent to the email address provided in the booking process. Flights with Air New Zealand (NZ) designator qualify for electronic tickets. No waitlists are permitted. Prices are subject to change at any time. Prices may go down; but under the fare rules of all fare types — excluding full price fares — Air New Zealand is not able to provide rebooking with a refund of the difference in price if a lower fare becomes available.

Ticket is fully refundable without penalty within 24 hours of ticketing when purchase is made 7 or more days before departure of the first flight in the itinerary. After the initial 24 hour period, cancellation or change fees may apply. Economy Class: Changes are permitted for $200.00 change fee per adult or child. For cancellations, tickets are non-refundable. Premium Economy: Changes permitted with $150.00 change fee per adult or child. For cancellations before departure, a penalty of $300.00 applies; after departure, ticket is non-refundable. Business Class: Changes permitted with $400.00 change fee per adult or child. For cancellations before departure, a penalty of $500.00 applies; after departure, ticket is non-refundable. All fares: A service fee of $50.00 shall apply for any changes. Fare upgrade may be required subject to booking class availability. New ticket must be of equal or greater value than original ticket. Contact Air New Zealand. For No-shows ticket value is forfeited. Australia: free stopovers permitted in Auckland and Rarotonga; all other stopovers within New Zealand at $100.00 per stopover. Cook Islands: free stopover permitted in Rarotonga. New Zealand and all other South Pacific destinations: free stopovers permitted in Auckland and Rarotonga, additional stopovers in South Pacific permitted at $100.00 for each stopover. Subject to direct air services between two points and published fare routing, and must be purchased at the same time as the International airfare. Routings must be in a continuous direction with no back-tracking permitted.

Frequent flier miles accrual is permitted with Air New Zealand Airpoints and United Airlines MileagePlus programs. Please check respective program for accrual information.

Accompanied children 2-11 years pay 75 percent of base fare in Economy and Premium Economy and 100 percent of the base fare in Business Class. I know, I know — it is not the best sale price you have ever seen for roundtrip flights between the United States and Australia or New Zealand; but this sale is worth considering if you have been wanting to travel there…

    Drop by Cairns and see the incredible Great Barrier Reef and the magnificent rainforests, have lunch at Port Douglas an hour away its a winner as is 4 mile beach.

      I actually became certified as a scuba diver so that I may explore the Great Barrier Reef when I was in Cairns years ago, Keith — and may I say that was so-o-o-o-o-o-o-o worth it.

      I have also been to the rain forests and the Atherton Tablelands, amongst other places.
