Can You Guess What Year This Hotel Room Information Page Was Printed?

W hen I am in a hotel room for the night and I have a moment, I will usually take the time to peruse the guide provided by the hotel property. This guide is usually found either on the surface of the desk in the room or in a drawer within a desk or nightstand.

In a recent stay at a hotel property, I thumbed through the pages of one particular hotel guide and found the page shown in the above photograph.

After reading the information printed on that page, can you guess as to when the page was actually printed — as well as under which brand that hotel property belongs?

No comment was given by any personnel at the hotel property in question, but there was a disclaimer:

This information was as accurate as possible when it was published, but can change without notice at any time.

The hotel room was rather clean and comfortable and I experienced no problems with my stay, so I am not about to suggest that if this page had not been updated in years that other aspects of the hotel property in question were suspect as well — but I could suppose that hotel guests simply do not read this page to have pointed out the inaccuracy of the outdated information…

…either that, or perhaps management at the hotel property might not have thought it was worth updating this page in 101 guides located in 101 different guest rooms — but then again, this page was clearly printed off of a laser printer; and the housekeeping staff could take the extra couple of minutes to replace the page in question with an updated page.

Considering that the merger between Northwest Airlines and Delta Air Lines was officially approved by the Department of Justice of the United States back in October of 2008 and that both frequent flier loyalty programs were integrated as part of SkyMiles in October of 2009, you could surmise that this page had been in existence for at least five years — and you would be correct — but it is most likely longer than that.

How do I know this? Independence Air ceased as a business entity on January 5, 2006 — so this page from the guide in the hotel room has been in existence for at least nine years.

By the way, I have not checked to see if all 101 guides in all 101 rooms at the hotel property in question included this outdated page…

My guess would be Hampton Inn, based on the typeface & layout.
