Capital One Hyatt Promotion Gone Awry?

The Capital One $900 Hyatt Check Certificates promotion seemed like a great deal a couple of month ago: get a $900 Hyatt Check Certificate — good for a multi-night stay at Hyatt Hotels and Resorts properties worldwide — for the approximate equivalent of $256.25.
However, after waiting through extensive delays to finally receive the promised certificates and allegedly experiencing poor customer service by overwhelmed Capital One representatives, FlyerTalk members are finally receiving their gift cards — not certificates — that are only valid at Hyatt Hotels and Resorts properties in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean — not worldwide.
Some FlyerTalk members are accusing Capital One of pulling the equivalent of a “bait-and-switch” on them, giving them something reportedly worth significantly less value than what they were originally promised.
