Cash Co-Pay and Miles Redemption Required for Certain Destinations After 1 March 2007

American AAdvantage members, be forewarned: in the CoPay for AA Miles Upgrade to Increase 3/1/07 thread, FlyerTalk member skAAtinsteph warns that starting 1 March 2007, certain destinations will require either an increase in the existing cash co-pay or a new cash co-pay in addition to the redemption of American AAdvantage miles:

A one-way domestic upgrade between Hawai’i and either the continental United States, Canada, Mexico or the Caribbean, which once required 15,000 American AAdvantage miles, will require 15,000 American AAdvantage miles plus US$150.00.

A one-way international upgrade between North America and either Europe, India, Japan, Northern China, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay or Uruguay, which once required 25,000 American AAdvantage miles plus US$250.00 will now require 25,000 American AAdvantage miles plus US$300.00.

Please read the CoPay for AA Miles Upgrade to Increase 3/1/07 thread for additional details, as well as reaction and comments from American AAdvantage FlyerTalk members.

Of course, as always, you are invited to post your opinion and input as well.
