Through July 9, 2013, when you stay at a participating W Hotels property in North America, you will earn 1,000 Delta Air Lines SkyMiles frequent flier loyalty program miles and — as a bonus — you also get two “cool” cocktails at the Living Room Bar.
Cool.
You must first register for this promotion, and you must be 21 years of age to receive the alcohol offer. However — if you are like me and do not drink alcoholic beverages, or you are younger than 21 years of age — non-alcoholic beverages may be substituted upon request, so that is not a problem.
I do not see any limitation as to the number of times you can earn 1,000 bonus SkyMiles through July 9, 2013, so I am assuming that earnings of bonus SkyMiles are only limited by how many times you stay at W Hotels properties during the promotion period.
To receive SkyMiles — or other frequent flier loyalty program miles — in lieu of Starpoints, you must participate in the Airline Direct Deposit portion of the Starwood Preferred Guest frequent guest loyalty program. With Airline Direct Deposit, Starpoints earned from eligible hotel stays and select bonus offers will be converted automatically into frequent flier loyalty program miles, will be credited to your Delta Air Lines SkyMiles account and may not be transferred back to your Starwood Preferred Guest frequent guest loyalty program account. If you do not participate in Airline Direct Deposit, Starpoints will be earned in the Starwood Preferred Guest program.
You may upgrade your room at an additional cost. Advance reservations are required. Other terms and conditions apply.
While I would not go out of my way to participate in this promotion, registration is free and it does not hurt to participate — unless you value Starpoints more than SkyMiles…

Who in their right mind would take SkyPesos over SPG Points?
