Earn 1,000 Starpoints With Every Sheraton Club Stay — But…
Through May 31, 2014, you can earn a bonus of 1,000 Starpoints every time you book a Sheraton Club Room for a stay at a participating Sheraton Club hotel property at an eligible room rate — which is similar to past promotions, such as this one from almost exactly one year ago where I expressed frustrations pertaining to participating in that promotion — and this is the third consecutive year for what has come to be an annual promotion.
However — in order to be eligible for this promotion — you must use an American Express credit card or American Express charge card to pay for your stay.
An eligible stay is defined as one or more consecutive nights booked on DAILYFS or SICLUB rate plans in the same hotel property regardless of the number of the times you check in or check out of that hotel property. The maximum stay is 90 days — or fewer, as stated on the official Internet web sites of individual hotel properties.
A limited number of rooms may be available at these rates, which are per room, per night, based on single or double occupancy and availability at time of reservation; and do not include taxes or additional charges which may be imposed. Blackout dates may apply. Refer to the official Internet web sites of individual hotel properties at Sheraton.com/club for details.
Unless I am missing something here, I personally believe that a list of hotel properties and dates eligible for this promotion would be much more helpful than forcing the customer to search the official Internet web site of each individual hotel property to find out whether or not the customer can participate in the promotion.
This offer is not applicable to groups and cannot be combined with other offers or promotions. Void where prohibited by law. Fulfillment of the offer is the sole responsibility of the participating American Express merchant. Other terms and conditions apply.
Sheraton Club guests enjoy complimentary breakfast, high-speed Internet access, all-day snacks and beverages, and special access to the fully-wired Club Lounge.
As I wrote last year, if you are fortunate to reserve a room for this promotion — for example, I attempted to book a room in March of 2014 with both promotional codes at the Sheraton Milan Malpensa Airport Hotel & Conference Centre hotel property, but with no luck — ensure that the room rate is not more expensive than a room rate for a comparable room…
…and if it is more expensive, ensure that the 1,000 bonus Starpoints justifies the expense.
Unless the difference in room rates is marginal at best, I would not pay a higher rate for a room simply to participate in this promotion, as I would rather have the extra money in my pocket — but that is just me.
If, however, the room rate is indeed the same with or without this promotion, then booking the reservation using this promotion is a “no-brainer” to which I would recommend you go for it…
