Earn 10,000 Hilton Honors Points For Completing a Survey 2020

You can earn 10,000 Hilton Honors points simply by completing your first survey within 90 days by Thursday, December 31, 2020 — but you must join Guest Opinion Rewards prior to completing your first survey 10,000 Hilton Honors points by the end of the year.

As your stalwart reporter, I decided to be the guinea pig and try the process out in order to find out for myself if this is worthy of your time and effort.

After completing the form as shown in the above image, an e-mail message was sent to me for me to confirm the activation of my membership.

After waiting a moment for the e-mail message, I received it and I activated my membership with Guest Opinion Rewards, which is a free Internet survey community exclusive to members of the Hilton Honors frequent guest loyalty program which allows you to earn Hilton Honors points for sharing your opinions in surveys about the products and services you use everyday.

I was asked to complete forms pertaining to additional information about myself; and despite the warnings in the privacy policy pertaining to revealing sensitive information, certain questions pertaining to what I consider sensitive information — such as income and race — have choices of either Prefer not to answer or Prefer not to state are available in case you do not want to answer those questions.

There were several “pages” of questions — none of which were too difficult or time-consuming to answer. They were basically questions about employment, income, gender, race, and other information which you can choose to skip.

Time For My First Survey

Once I completed the series of questions, I was then invited to participate in my first survey pertaining to business — but after spending a few minutes on it, I was informed that I was not qualified to complete it. I earned ten Hilton Honors points for my effort.

Immediately afterwards, I was invite to complete another survey — this one pertaining to entertainment. That survey seemed like a shorter survey, as I only needed ten minutes to complete it…

…but I never successfully completed the survey — despite my trying to complete several of them…

…yet I was credited with the activation bonus of 10,000 Hilton Honors points — plus ten Hilton Honors points for each incomplete survey.

The points did not immediately post into my Hilton Honors membership account. Rather, I received an e-mail message which had the following statement:

Congratulations!

Hi Brian,

Congratulations – you’ve completed your first survey! Your account will be credited with 10000.0 Hilton Honors Bonus Points. These Hilton Honors Bonus Points will be transferred to your Hilton Honors account in the next 4-6 weeks.

Don’t forget to login to your account regularly to find more opportunities to earn Hilton Honors Points.

Thank you,
The Guest Opinion Rewards Team

Other terms and conditions — including those of the Hilton Honors frequent guest loyalty program and those of Guest Opinion Rewards — apply.

Summary

The duration of the entire process was approximately twenty minutes, which includes the wait for the activation e-mail messages; completing my profile; and participating in five surveys — none of which I qualified.

Guest Opinion Rewards is quite similar to e-Rewards where you participate in surveys to earn points — the main difference being that you have a choice of where to earn points from the e-Rewards “dollars” you earn; whereas the points earned through Guest Opinion Rewards automatically go directly into your Hilton Honors membership account.

This seems to be a good way to keep the points in your Hilton Honors membership account from expiring if you do not mind taking surveys — but this is not exactly the easiest way to earn Hilton Honors points; and you might find that the time needed to complete the process may otherwise not be worth the effort…

…but at least earning the initial 10,000 Hilton Honors points is definitely worth the minimal time and effort, in my opinion — especially when you only need as few as 5,000 Hilton Honors points to stay at 23 hotel properties worldwide; or as few as 10,000 Hilton Honors points to stay at 79 hotel properties worldwide

  1. Billy Bob says:

That link you provide, in my case anyway, skips the whole little 10,000 point section between Earning Hilton Honors Bonus Points has never been easier! and 1 Your Information.
    This must be targeted.

    1. Brian Cohen says:

This promotion is not targeted, Billy Bob.

The information was sent to me directly from my contact at Hilton for all readers of The Gate. Here is the exact wording which I received:

“Join Guest Opinion Rewards and complete their first survey within 90 days to earn 10,000 Points by the end of the year.”

The links should be generic — meaning everyone should be able to access it and is not targeted.

Let me see what I can do to fix this…

  2. Paul says:

Spurious at best and a huge waste of time. Almost all travel companies offers survey or opinion rewards. These surveys are easy ways for the survey companies to gain extensive (marketing) information about you that you supply at a very low cost to them.

Their cost becomes even lower after completing majority of surveys, when they tell you that you don’t qualify for that survey despite supplying copious quantities of your information.

Bottom line, lots of promises with little performance.

    1. Brian Cohen says:

I do not disagree with you, Paul — and of course this is why the surveys offer free miles and points…

…but 10,000 Hilton Honors points for little time and effort is worth it to me; and I give little personal information in the surveys.

  3. Arnold S says:

They only gave me 1,250 points. Better than nothing, but not anywhere near 10,000.

    1. Brian Cohen says:

That is weird, Arnold S. According to the information which I received from my contact at Hilton, you should have earned 10,000 Hilton Honors points.

  4. NB_ga says:

I received only 1,250 as well. (Along with the actual payments for the surveys or survey denials.)

    1. Brian Cohen says:

I am going to ask my contact at Hilton about this for you and other readers of The Gate, NB_ga.

      Thank you for your patience.

      1. NB_ga says:

Thank you, Brian! I appreciate your looking into it.

      2. Nicholas says:

        Any update?
What should be done if we haven’t scored the 10k bonus points?

        1. Brian Cohen says:

More information will be forwarded to me by my contact at Hilton, Nicholas.

  5. Kevin says:

Just signed up and took my first survey for 150 points. Says 15 minutes but took almost 30 minutes. In the end, I did get a quick email confirmation saying that 10,000 points will be transferred to my account in 4-6 weeks.

    1. Brian Cohen says:

Thank you for reporting your experience, Kevin; and I am glad you scored the 10,000 Hilton Honors points.

I still do not understand the mixed results from readers…

  6. Kevin says:

No problem. Thanks for posting this Brian.

  7. Dora says:

I just scored the 10,000! Thanks for your post

  8. Disappointed says:

    Only 1250 for me … 🙁

  9. Nicholas says:

Did the survey yesterday and received the following email:

Congratulations – you’ve completed your first survey! Your account will be credited with 1250.0 Hilton Honors Bonus Points. These Hilton Honors Bonus Points will be transferred to your Hilton Honors account in the next 4-6 weeks.

  10. Kevin says:

I’m wondering if this is the problem. Did those who earned 1,250 points click on the VERY FIRST link in this post? It should mention 10,000 points for joining and completing a survey. If you clicked on the other links, I think that takes you to the main link without the bonus points. So you get 1,000 points plus the points for completing a survey which my guess is worth 250 points for those who completed it.

    1. Brian Cohen says:

That is a good question, Kevin.

I have not yet heard from my contact at Hilton pertaining to this issue; but when I do, I will address it…

  11. Carl WV says:

    Thanks! I received the 10,000.

This looks like the same tool Caesar uses for Say and Play. It’s good for initial 10K or keeping points from expiring. Other than that you’re getting less than minimum wage.

    1. Roman says:

how long it took to received points please?

      1. Carl WV says:

It showed in the survey site immediately, and I got an email. It may take a while to show at the Hilton site itself.

      2. Brian Cohen says:

The official answer, Roman, is: “These Hilton Honors Bonus Points will be transferred to your Hilton Honors account in the next 4-6 weeks.”
