…but you must first register for this promotion and book your tickets by July 31, 2018 to be eligible; and you must be a member of the Aeroplan frequent flier loyalty program.

First Air is an airline which is wholly owned by the Inuit people of Quebec and operates services to 34 communities in Nunavut, Nunavik, and the Northwest Territories — all of which are in northern Canada. Its fleet primarily consists of 13 Aérospatiale ATR 42 aircraft — and four Boeing 737 airplanes round off the remainder of the fleet.

Bonus Aeroplan miles which are earned through this promotion are not Altitude Qualifying Miles and do not count toward Air Canada Altitude elite level status. Aeroplan miles will be credited to the Aeroplan membership account of the traveler — regardless of who pays for the ticket.

This offer is not valid on First Air flight 1811, First Air flight 1812, or any of the 700 series of First Air flights. Award travel is excluded from this offer.

Summary

According to the official Internet web site of First Air, “Bonus miles are eligible for Aeroplan Status.”

Although Aeroplan “miles will be deposited within 4 weeks of flight crediting”, the official Internet web site of First Air claims that it “may take up to 6 weeks following flight activity for bonus miles to be credited to members Aeroplan account.”

If you have ever wanted to visit the Inuit communities of northern Canada and are a member of the Aeroplan frequent flier loyalty program, consider registering for — and participating in — this promotion.
