Earn Up to 1,500 Best Western Reward Points Per Stay and Up to a 20% Discount
In what FlyerTalk member sdsearch calls a “confusing” promotion, when you book a reservation between now and November 24, 2013 at a rate found only on the official Internet web site of Best Western, you will earn 1,000 bonus Best Western Rewards frequent guest loyalty program points per stay — elite members earn 1,500 bonus Best Western Rewards frequent guest loyalty program points per stay — in addition to a discount of up to 20 percent off of the best available rate, depending on the hotel property at which you stay.
However, you must register for this promotion prior to your qualifying stay at a participating hotel property; and you must also complete your qualifying stays prior to the end of the promotion period — but the good news is that you are only limited to earn as many Best Western Rewards frequent guest loyalty program points and receive the discount as determined by how many stays you can book and complete during the promotion period.
Other terms and conditions apply.
If you do not mind the inconvenience, the practice of “hotel hopping” — for example, where instead of staying two nights at one hotel property which would only count as one stay, you could stay one night in one hotel property and another night in another hotel property which would count as two stays — could benefit you significantly during this promotion. Depending on the room rates, “hotel hopping” could cost you more money — so you may need to calculate whether it is worth it — or save you money, which would be a “no-brainer.”
One confusing part of this promotion is that there is a “list of participating countries” where this offer is valid — but no specific location as to where this list resides is given other than the generic official Internet web site of Best Western, which is somewhat odd.
As a result of additional confusion regarding variations of this promotion — such as with a special rate with the American Automobile Association, or AAA — FlyerTalk member GoingGal called a representative at Best Western and reports that “the promo is tied to making an on-line reservation and, as long as you are signed up for one of the versions and book your reservation on line at Bestwestern.com 16 Sep – 24 Nov, you will earn the added points. The agent had no idea why they show the AAA.com URL in the T&Cs.”
Best Western offers promotions which are rather decent and could very well be worth your participation; but somehow for some reason the way they market their promotions — this promotion being one example — and structure the verbiage of the details of each promotion can at times seem to leave a lot to be desired…
