FlyerTalk Member Pleads for Help From Aircraft During Tornado in St. Louis

A tornado forces Lambert-St. Louis International Airport to shut down, causing significant damage to Terminal C. While full resumption of service is not expected at the airport until Sunday, April 24, service has been steadily increasing at the airport as crews clean up the damage left by the tornado.

Although significant damage was reported in homes in neighborhoods caught in the path of the storm, the damage at the airport was witnessed first-hand by a FlyerTalk member who was a passenger on an American Airlines aircraft and pleads “We are trapped. Plane in tornado (STL Apr 22, 2011) Field closed” while also remarking how it was “unbelievable to have a 757 tossed about like a paper airplane” — and there is also access to plenty of links to news stories, photographs and videos.
