…but you can only receive one ticket per e-mail address — which is valid for you and one guest — and you must choose wisely, as once you select a museum or cultural institution, you will not be able to change your selection. Also, keep in mind that the ticket is not valid for special exhibits, parking, IMAX film screening, or any other offer. If a museum or cultural institution reaches capacity, the museum has the right to limit guests until space becomes available.

Keep in mind that some museums and cultural institutions may have already reached capacity for Museum Day and may not have space available. Please check with individual museum and cultural institution websites for updates and information about local activities.

To locate participating museums and cultural institutions which are nearest to you, click Get A Ticket to filter your search by the location of museum location, name of museum, or type of museum. You will be asked to enter your name, e-mail address, and to confirm the museum or cultural institution you wish to attend before downloading your ticket. You will be able to download your ticket immediately and a copy will be sent to you via e-mail message. Check your inbox for an e-mail message from with a link to your ticket.

The ticket is only valid on Museum Day, Saturday, September 18, 2021.

Please call the museum if you have specific questions related to ages and admission. Generally, if admission to the museum is free for children, the museum will not count your child as your Museum Day guest. If the museum generally charges admission for children, then your child will count as one of your Museum Day guests, as each ticket provides general admission for ticket holder plus one guest.

Some museums require a printed ticket; while others will allow you to show your ticket via a portable electronic device. Check your ticket to be sure. Museums which require a printed ticket include an asterisk under the museum address stating, “*Printed ticket required.”

Final Boarding Call

If you go to Museum Day with more than one guest, other guests will have to pay full admission — or you can have someone else in your group acquire his or her own ticket with his or her e-mail address; and that person can bring a guest as well.
