Advancements and Improvements by Hertz in 2020
The Hertz Gold Standard Clean seal was introduced, as each vehicle is sealed immediately following the conclusion of a rigorous 15-point cleaning and sanitization process that adheres to the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the United States — and this is a first-of-its-kind practice in the rental car industry which was implemented to help customers travel with greater confidence and peace of mind.
Hertz also launched new capabilities within its mobile software application program this year to facilitate a touchless rental experience by enabling them to select and purchase more products and services digitally. These enhancements complement the low-touch and touchless solutions that Hertz offers through its Hertz Gold Plus Rewards frequent renter loyalty program. Gold Plus Rewards members can minimize or eliminate personal contact by skipping the counter at many airports and going straight to their car. When they return, members can drop off their car and go with the eReceipt and Express Return service.

Those are quite a pair of achievements for Hertz
Unfortunately, Hertz Global Holdings, Incorporated — which is the parent company of Hertz that includes certain subsidiaries of its operations in the United States and Canada — filed voluntary petitions for reorganization under Chapter 11 in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware back in May of 2020 after being in business for 102 years in an effort to create a strengthened and more robust financial capital structure that best positions the rental car company for the future as it navigates its way through what could be a prolonged recovery for both the travel industry and the global economy overall. The company has also had to deal with significantly decreased travel demand and the heartbreaking layoffs of thousands of employees.
Hertz has persevered despite having suffered some significant setbacks in 2020 due to the current 2019 Novel Coronavirus pandemic and other issues — and hopefully, the rental car company will recover with the rest of the decimated travel industry as soon as possible…
