Hilton Honors Again Extends Expiration Policies, Reduces Elite Status Qualification Requirements, and Increases Flexibility

They are almost as good as last year.

Several revised adjustments to policies of the Hilton Honors frequent guest loyalty program were released yesterday to provide maximum flexibility and value to greater than 118 million of its members due to the current 2019 Novel Coronavirus pandemic — including the extension of the expiration date of points and the reduction of the qualification requirements for earning elite status for next year.

If you are not already a member of the Hilton Honors frequent guest loyalty program, you can join now free of charge.

Most of the revised adjustments to policies of the Hilton Honors frequent guest loyalty program is good news — although not as good as those which were announced last year. For example, the reduced requirements to earn elite level status this year have actually increased from a flat reduction of 50 percent across the board last year.

I initially wrote, “However, I believe that the flexible change policy and cancellation policy should have been extended as well — but perhaps I am asking for too much…”; but the policies do remain flexible at this time.
