Suggestions, tips and personal recommendations — with photographs — are curated by employees of the hotel and resort properties who are based in the area, rather than solely on artificial intelligence…

…and Explore is available in 28 markets covering almost 1,000 hotel and resort properties amongst all of the brands of the Hilton portfolio — such as Atlanta, New York, Chicago, Nashville, Los Angeles, London and Rome — and additional markets will be added in the future.

The application program interface known as Places — which is developed by the location technology company known as Foursquare — is the primary source and engine which powers Explore; and it is comprised of the freshest and most trusted venue content in real time for greater than 105 million places globally. The information includes ratings, features, photographs, and hours. You will be able to see recommendations relevant to your current hotel reservation and apply “favorite” status to recommendations provided in advance of your travel to create a customized guide for your upcoming trip — all from the convenience of your mobile device — and you will have the opportunity to experience food, nightlife, shopping and activity destinations which have been hand-selected by team members of Hilton who reside in the area and take pride in knowing and sharing the ‘best of’ their cities firsthand.

Gastronomic delights to try from local restaurants; the best times to go to places within the area; and specific things to see and do are just some of the helpful detailed information which you will find — whether you are searching for activities and dining options better suited towards families; lone business travelers; or couples on vacation.


Although the concierge at the hotel or resort property is typically a good place to start, you are relying on the recommendations of one or a few people on which to base your decisions. Explore offers information from a larger group of reliable sources to assist in assuring that your decisions are as informed as possible, based on your tastes.

Explore is yet another addition to the suite of digital services which power highly personalized guest experiences via the the mobile software application program of the Hilton Honors frequent guest loyalty program, with convenience and ease of use — such as selecting your room in advance prior to checking into the hotel or resort property; opt to receive a digital key to access your room, and complete your process of checking in to the hotel or resort property — all on your mobile device.
