I received an e-mail message from the Emerald Club frequent renter loyalty program of National Car Rental recently requesting that I “keep a good thing going” and “preregister for ONE TWO FREE 2019.”

The message was concise — similar to the one I received last year — as follows:
Thank you for previously participating in ONE TWO FREE®. Our next promotion starts this fall, and we want you to be among the first to know. Preregister for ONE TWO FREE 2019 now, and you’ll be set to earn a Free Rental Day‡ with every two rentals when the promotion begins.* Stay tuned for details.
Don’t wait! Preregistration ends on August 7, 2019.
‡Free Day covers base rate (Time and Mileage) only.

…and if it is anything like the promotion in previous years, expect ONE TWO FREE to be in effect from sometime in late August of 2019 through Friday, January 31, 2020 — although in some past years, the promotion was extended through February; so its extension again this year is possible — and the points and free rental day coupons should be valid through 11:59 in the evening on Monday, June 15, 2020, which is when they will most likely expire.
While it is not expected to be quite as lucrative as its original iteration, it is still a popular promotion — and the good news is that it is definitely returning later this summer.
