Packing the Kitchen Sink as Carry-On Baggage

While it would be too draining to actually pack a kitchen sink on-board an aircraft, FlyerTalk member wormhole is wondering about countering people who overpack their carry-on baggage and then try to stuff it in the overhead compartment. Should the passengers nearby who were complaining about this situation have piped down, or is it just plumb ridiculous to fill one’s carry-on baggage beyond its capacity?

Bonus: There is a photograph of a FlyerTalk moderator actually stuffed in an overhead bin in the Packing the kitchen sink as carry on thread.
