Eleven days since a ransomware cyber attack on the servers of the city of Atlanta occurred on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at approximately 1:00 in the afternoon, free access to the Internet via public Wi-Fi has finally resumed at the international airport which serves the greater Atlanta metropolitan area — to the relief of many passengers who do not have access to lounges and do not want to pay for Wi-Fi service.

This message announcing the return of the operation of the free public Wi-Fi system appeared at the official Twitter account of the airport.

The public Wi-Fi system was disabled as a precautionary measure for the sake of safety and security, which has been a top priority. It was not directly impacted by the ransomware cyber attack on the servers of the city of Atlanta.
The loss of public Wi-Fi service meant that passengers at the airport generally could not access the Internet free of charge.
Summary
Thankfully, no other operations or services at the international airport have been affected or impacted by the ransomware cyber attack — and news of the restoration of public Wi-Fi access is welcomed by passengers and other users of the airport.
