Schiphol Airport Still Has a Mouse Problem Four Years Later
That paragraph you just read was originally written in this article on Thursday, October 9, 2014; and although more electrical power outlets are now available and access to the Internet seems to be significantly speedier, I still see mice scurrying out in the open along the floors at Schiphol Airport, which serves the greater Amsterdam metropolitan area.
I would take a photograph of one of them; but they are rather fast and can find a small hiding place rather quickly. The photograph which you see at the top of this article is where I spotted the mice scurrying about.
Summary
I am sure other airports must have a similar pest control problem. After all, restaurants and shops all store food; waste receptacles hold trash; people are generally pigs in terms of a lack of cleanliness; and there are so many places for mice and other pests to hide that in the hustle and bustle of an airport, most people do not even notice them…
…but the problem seems to be blatant at Schiphol Airport — and I would argue that it is worse than ever.
As I wait for my flight, I once again have someone to keep me company…
