My Starwood Account Was Compromised and Wiped Out.

checked my e-mail account and found that my Starwood Preferred Guest account was compromised, my Starpoints gone, and my account inaccessible to me.

More to come, as I am communicating with a representative from the Starwood Preferred Guest frequent guest loyalty program who let me know that my password and address were both incorrect.

“I will send out an inquiry right away to our program services department and have them look into the account”, said the representative. “It appears your e-mail address was not changed. I will have them contact you directly. One moment while I contact that department.”

Please stay tuned as this situation is currently unfolding…

Edited to add: the details of what happened are found in this article.

  1. So how many of us just jumped on their award wallet and clicked refresh for their SPG accounts 😉

I do not even use AwardWallet or any other service such as that; but that is a good question!

      More to come…

How do you keep track of all your accounts without award wallet? Do you prefer something else or nothing

        1. Brian Cohen says:

Believe it or not, I keep track of them manually, caveman.

I am currently working on the article with more details about what had happened…

  2. Bill says:

I sure did! immediately refreshed Awardwallet and changed my SPG password… (it was due for a change anyway)…

Hope you get your situation resolved soon!

    For now, mine is fine.

    1. Brian Cohen says:

I am glad that your account was not compromised, PhatMiles — but definitely check it on a regular basis…
