I’m melting. Goodbye, cruel world.

Meteorologists forecasted winter weather in northern Georgia for today, Sunday, January 16, 2022 — as well as for much of the eastern half of the United States and the eastern half of Canada — which meant that snow could possibly fall as far south as the greater Atlanta metropolitan area.

Whether that happens or not, figures with smiling faces who are sculpted out of the fallen flakes of snow by their human creators will suddenly appear across the landscape, adorned with grapes or raisins for eyes; carrots for noses; small rocks or candies for mouths; sticks or branches for arms; caps of jugs for buttons; and the inexplicable hat and scarf to keep the snowman — or snow woman — “warm” for some reason, which seems to be antithetical to the point of a snowman in the first place…

…and the slow demise eventually happens: whether or not the snow person wears a scarf or a hat — or whatever other type of “protection” it is afforded — it will eventually lose weight, shape, and form as it eventually melts away…

…until all that is left is that hat, scarf, and other items which once adorned the late snow person — of which otherwise no evidence is left of his or her existence — may he or she rest in peace.

Final Boarding Call

It is snow use: except in only the most frigid climates can a snowman last for the entire year, as they are otherwise doomed to the warmer air which eventually comes sometime around the beginning of spring — or possibly even sooner.

In the meantime, enjoy your hot cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate to warm you up during this cold winter morning. At least you will not melt — but you hopefully will not freeze, either.
