This article may include a cliff hanger.

Dover is a town in Kent, which is located in the southeastern part of England across the Strait of Dover from Cap Gris Nez in France at the narrowest part of the English Channel — and many attractions which can be visited include the Dover Castle, the South Foreland Lighthouse, and the Dover Museum…

…and in addition to Dover being a major ferry port in Great Britain, it is arguably best known for the nearby White Cliffs of Dover, on which people walk on the top paths during the season and enjoy the unique flora and fauna that can be found only at this natural wonder.

Comprised of soft chalk — which is a pure form of limestone and rare in terms of geology — a scratch of a fingernail is all that is needed to extract a piece of the white substance, which feels like talcum powder…

…but unfortunately, that is only an infinitesimal percentage of the erosion of the cliffs which occur, as the cliffs become narrower by approximately one centimeter every year. Sometimes chunks of the chalky white substance collapse into the English Channel. Look carefully to see a grayish discoloration which resembles concrete, which is applied to the cliffs to minimize the erosion as much as possible.
