Basic Economy in 1975: No Frills Fare on This Airline…

Frequent travelers who are old enough to remember the days prior to deregulation of the commercial aviation industry in the United States in 1978 — as a result of a federal law in the United States called the Airline Deregulation Act, which removed federal control over fares, routes, market entry of new airlines, and other aspects of the commercial aviation industry as it became more of a free market — may recall when service was paramount…

…but an audio commercial — which was initially broadcast…

Update: Passengers Must Wear Face Coverings or Masks With These Airlines Based in the United States

Steve Cohen — who is a Democratic member of the House of Representatives of the United States serving the ninth district of Tennessee and a senior member of the Aviation Subcommittee of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure — is one of the lawmakers who wrote a letter urging that passengers should be required to use face masks while aboard airplanes to mitigate the spread of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus in air travel to key people who head four departments of the federal government of the United States…

…but action as a result of that letter may not be necessary, as several airlines which are based in the United States have already enacted their own policies of requiring passengers to wear face coverings or masks that cover their mouths and noses while aboard their airplanes.

At the time this article was written, the airlines which have announced these requirements include…

Videos: Vomit in Seat Back Pocket Leads to Arrest of Passenger

Please allow me to throw up a story to you for your consideration: a woman whose daughter allegedly felt wet vomit in the seat pocket in front of her shortly after boarding the airplane was ultimately arrested — and I would like to know what you would have done if you found yourself in a similar situation.

Rosetta Swinney and her daughter were passengers of an airplane operated by Frontier Airlines and were looking forward to heading home to Durham after they enjoyed spending Easter weekend together at a wedding in Las Vegas — until the daughter reportedly jumped up from her seat, exclaiming that her hands were wet.

When the daughter smelled what was on her hands, she realized that it was vomit, which was on the air sickness bag in the seat pocket in front of her — as well as all over her shirt and her hands.Swinney claims…

One Reason Why You Might Not Want to Upgrade to Frontier Airlines The WORKS

“I haven’t flown with Frontier Airlines, but I consider them a viable option when I’m looking for an affordable flight. My first Frontier flight will probably be to Denver so I can take advantage of their free lift ticket at Copper Mountain! While researching Frontier’s pricing, I came across the Frontier Airlines the WORKS upgrade package. Basically, the WORKS lets you bundle together a bunch of options to save money compared to if you bought them all individually. So, the question is, should you upgrade to Frontier Airlines the WORKS?”

I also have not flown as a passenger aboard an airplane operated by Frontier Airlines; but a lift ticket at Copper Mountain costs $150.00 for the day — meaning that…

One Buck Airfare Sale Cost Frontier Airlines $60,000.00 in Fines

“Even I’m interested in trying out Frontier at this price! And I’m not the only one, I keep getting a systems busy error message.”

Keri Anderson of Heels First Travel reported in this article that “Frontier Airlines is running a one day $1 airfare sale with limited inventory” where you could fly as a passenger from Atlanta, Chicago, Cleveland, Denver, Philadelphia, Trenton or the District of Columbia to destinations such as Las Vegas, Memphis, Miami and Orlando for only one dollar — but the total was more like $15.00 when taxes and fees were included.

Travel was valid between Wednesday, September 2, 2015 through Wednesday, September 16, 2015; and Tuesday, September 8, 2015 was a blackout date.

This sale received plenty of media attention on BoardingArea — and elsewhere too.

The 500 Mile Expiration Conundrum

“Quick! Your miles are about to expire…” was the title of an e-mail message which awaited me earlier today — and well, it was bound to happen sometime.

It was a spur of the moment thing, really — and I am shaking my head realizing that it escaped my mind.

This article…
