“I hope you see lots of animals but don’t forget to look for birds too”, advised Tara of Miles To The Wild in a private communication she sent to me before I embarked on my safari in Kenya. “Many people get so caught up with the mammals they don’t notice the amazing birds!”
I kept that in mind — as well as other advice which she kindly imparted to me — when I was finally on safari in Masai Mara National Reserve.
There were no worries pertaining to sighting the birds, as both the guides and fellow participants of the safari were just as interested in the avian sightings as with the other fauna more typically pictured when the word safari comes to mind.
I will just let the photographs of some of the avifauna of the Masai Mara speak for themselves, presented here in chronological order for your enjoyment.
