Travel Alert March 2021: Winter Storm to Impact Colorado and Wyoming

If Colorado and Wyoming are in your travel plans over the next few days, you may want to consider delaying your travel — or, at least, keep yourself updated as to the latest information pertaining to the weather — due to a winter storm which has been tracking eastward across the United States.

Travel Alert March 2021: Winter Storm to Impact Colorado and Wyoming

A winter weather system is threatening to shatter the records of the biggest snowstorms in Denver since 1885, as up to 60 inches — yes, that is five feet — of snow could fall in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and Wyoming; and up to 24 inches of snow is expected in southeastern Wyoming, western Nebraska, eastern Colorado, and a tiny portion of southwestern South Dakota. A slightly expanded area of the aforementioned four states can expect up to 12 inches of snow. All of these areas include Denver, Fort Collins, Grand Platte, Grand Junction, Larkspur, Casper, Boulder, Scottsbluff, Cheyenne, Aspen, and Pueblo.

Up to three inches of snow is forecast for portions of Utah, northern Arizona, northwestern New Mexico, western Iowa, and a further expanded area of the aforementioned four regions.
