Update: Starting Today, Free Wi-Fi Access to the Internet For All Hilton HHonors Members
F ree Wi-Fi access to the Internet will be available starting today, Thursday, June 4, 2015 for all members of the Hilton HHonors frequent guest loyalty program who book directly at all StayConnected properties globally — and the general terms and conditions of Hilton HHonors have been updated today to reflect these changes.
Although I first reported in this article back on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 that “starting in August, free Wi-Fi Access to the Internet will be offered to all members of the Hilton HHonors frequent guest loyalty program”, it appears that the timetable has been moved up by a couple of months — and that is great news.
Diamond VIP elite level status members who book directly through either a proprietary channel of Hilton or via one of the approved travel agent partners of Hilton Worldwide will begin receiving free premium Wi-Fi access globally where available starting this month — but this offering will not be available until August through September at hotel and resort properties in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and the Pacific regions.
When you book your stays directly through a proprietary official channel of Hilton or one of the corporate travel partners of Hilton Worldwide, complimentary standard Wi-Fi access to the Internet will be offered to you if you are a Blue or Silver VIP elite level status member; and if you are a Gold VIP elite level status member, complimentary standard Wi-Fi access to the Internet will continue to be offered to you.
To have complimentary Internet access via Wi-Fi, book directly through a proprietary channel of Hilton or one of the corporate travel partners of Hilton Worldwide:
The Hilton HHonors mobile software application program for portable electronic devices
Via any official Internet web site of Hilton Worldwide or Hilton HHonors
Calling Hilton Reservations Customer Care at 1-800-HHonors or your local Hilton reservations office
Calling an individual hotel — plus walk-ins and physical on-property too
Via corporate travel agencies and travel professionals which book via a Hilton proprietary channel
Although there is some concern as to the speed of complimentary standard Wi-Fi access to the Internet — I have experienced excruciating slowness myself at some Hilton hotel and resort properties around the world — will it be adequate enough to be considered as a benefit of any use?
