What is Wrong With This Photograph? Part 82

What I do not understand is that when I set out to purposely proofread an article, text, or virtually anything else, I always seem to miss something — and yet, when I recently passed by the sign which is shown in the following photograph, at least one error instantly jumped out at me without even reading it.

Technical errors are present in the language of the sign, such as “ordinance” instead of “ordinances”, “sec” or section instead of “Chapter 54”, etc. Technically, the top line under the title should be chapter 54 section 4 of the county code.

Even worse, the title is not correct. It is probably a county ordinance. It is not a Parks and Recreation Department ordinance as the department unlikely passes ordinance but rather the county council or park board does.

But the worst part is the left sign post has a screw below the sign. How are people supposed to respect the county when they are so sloppy to do that!

“To or posses” should read “or to possess”.

  3. Michael says:

  4. Jim Lovejoy says:

    Section 54-11 Has a b and c but not a
    Section 54-13 Passive Parks:
