Where Can You Find Gasoline for Less Than $1.90 Per Gallon in the United States?

n increasing number of states in the United States have fuel stations which are selling gasoline at less than $1.90 per gallon as of the time this article was posted…

…but which states are these; and where are those fuel stations located — as well as the one fuel station which is selling gasoline at $1.69 per gallon?

Here is a list of twelve states — according to GasBuddy.com — where fuel stations which are selling gasoline at less than $1.90 per gallon are located:

  • Texas You can find one fuel station selling gasoline for $1.89 per gallon in Fort Worth — fort what it is worth
  • Tennessee No fewer than two fuel stations in Soddy-Daisy located just north of Chattanooga and one fuel station in Athens located approximately halfway between Chattanooga and Knoxville sell gasoline for as low as $1.89 per gallon
  • North Carolina Charlotte is the only location in this state where gasoline sells for $1.89 per gallon at one fuel station
  • Louisiana If you cut off towards Cut Off, do not let the fuel station selling gasoline for $1.88 per gallon pass bayou
  • Alabama One fuel station in Fort McClellan — located just outside of Anniston and approximately 90 miles west of Atlanta and 75 miles east of Birmingham — sells gasoline for $1.87 per gallon; while one fuel station in Birmingham, Phenix City and Warrior each sell gasoline for $1.89 per gallon
  • Mississippi Eleven fuel stations in a number of cities and towns sell gasoline for $1.89 per gallon; but you can also find gasoline for $1.87 per gallon at two fuel stations in Southaven, which is located south of Memphis, Tennessee
  • Virginia Eight fuel stations in a number of cities and towns from Roanoke to Charlottesville in the western part of the state sell gasoline for $1.89 per gallon; but you can also find gasoline for $1.87 per gallon at a fuel station in Vinton, which is located just east of Roanoke
  • Missouri If I told you that there is an old saying which cites that Missouri loves company and proves it with their low gasoline price of $1.86 at five fuel stations in three towns south of Saint Louis — one in Herculaneum, two in Festus and two in Crystal City — as well as $1.87 at one fuel station in Herculaneum and one fuel station in Crystal City, you would probably say “Show Me”
  • New Jersey Ramsey is the clear winner in one of the two states where you do not pump your own fuel, as this town located northwest of New York City and not far south of the New York State border — you read that correctly — is where one fuel station sells gasoline for $1.85 per gallon, one fuel station sells gasoline for $1.87 per gallon, and two fuel stations sell gasoline for $1.89 per gallon; while two fuel stations in the town of Medford located east of Philadelphia sell gasoline for $1.87 per gallon
  • Georgia Is Georgia on your mind when you think about peachy prices of $1.85 per gallon of gasoline at one fuel station in Augusta, Macon and Martinez; as well as $1.89 per gallon of gasoline in Colquitt?
  • Oklahoma There are way too many fuel stations in Oklahoma City alone to list where gasoline is being sold for less than $1.90 per gallon; so let us just highlight one fuel station selling gasoline for $1.79 per gallon in — where else? — Oklahoma City.
  • South Carolina Forget less than $1.90 per gallon — there are plenty of fuel stations which fit that criterion — or even less that $1.80 per gallon…how about a fuel station which sells gasoline for $1.69 in the gallon in Rock Hill south of Charlotte, North Carolina?

Click on the names of the states in the list above for the exact location of the fuel stations which sell gasoline at less than $1.90 per gallon; and if your state is not on the list above, there may still be fuel stations located within it which sell fuel for less than $2.00 per gallon — if you know where to look.

The most expensive fuel station in the 50 United States is located near Deadhorse Airport — no sense in beating a dead horse for this title, I suppose — in Prudhoe Bay in Alaska, where the price is $5.51 per gallon.

Ouch…

  1. I happen to live in Rock Hill, SC. I can verify i saw 1.69 this morning. Although I think it will go up a little bit judging by some other stations in the area.

    1. You may be correct, Andy.

I did not report on it; but there was a fuel station in Virginia selling gasoline for less than $1.80 per gallon a couple of weeks ago — but that did not last long…

  2. FYI….NJ has good gas prices, it is one of a very few good things about living here. Anyway, most of those low prices are cash only. The credit price is often 10 cents a gallon more. The $1.95 a gallon is over $2 at many stations for a credit purchase. With so many CCs offering bonus or multiplier points on gas purchases, I always use credit.

    1. I remember when New Jersey had the lowest prices in the United States, Captain Kirk.

Of course, some of those savings were offset by the amount of gasoline required to use in order to either successfully complete a U-turn on such highways as New Jersey State Route 17 or United States Highway 1; or to navigate those “jug handles” — some of which brought motorists to the same traffic light twice
