Why the Apple Shopping Event 2021 May Be a Disappointment to You

Are there worms in this Apple?

If you are looking for a rare good deal on products by Apple, you might be eagerly and excitedly awaiting the Apple Shopping Event, which will be in effect as of tomorrow, Friday, November 26, 2021 through Monday, November 29, 2021 — which covers both Black Friday and Cyber Monday — in the hopes of snagging a bargain or a great discount…

Why the Apple Shopping Event 2021 May Be a Disappointment to You

…but you will most likely be disappointed because many of the items which are eligible for this promotion are not the latest versions of the product lines. For example, if you have been waiting to purchase a new iPhone, forget about any of the iPhone 13 models or even an iPhone 12 Pro, as the only iPhones which are eligible for this promotion are the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, and iPhone SE models — which which you will receive a gift card worth $50.00 on a future purchase of Apple products.

In fact, the best you can do with this promotion is receive a gift card worth $200.00 — but only when you purchase a 27-inch iMac computer — on a future purchase of Apple products.

The link for the terms and conditions of this offer is well-hidden, as it is quite small — but here they are, as you can get a gift card from Apple worth:

  • $200.00 when you purchase a 27-inch iMac computer
  • $100.00 when you purchase:
    • MacBook Air
    • MacBook Pro 13” M1
    • Mac mini
    • iPad Pro 11”
    • iPad Pro 12.9”
  • $75.00 when you purchase AirPods Max
  • $50.00 when you purchase:
    • iPhone SE
    • iPhone 12
    • iPhone 12 mini
    • Apple Watch Series 3
    • Apple Watch SE
    • AirPods Pro
    • Apple TV HD
    • Apple TV 4K
    • Beats Studio3 Wireless
    • Beats Solo3 Wireless
    • Beats Powerbeats Pro
    • Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro and iPad Air
  • $25.00 when you purchase:
    • AirPods — second generation
    • AirPods — third generation
    • Beats Flex
    • Beats Studio Buds
    • MagSafe Duo Charger
    • Smart Keyboard Folio
    • AirTag 4 pack
    • Apple Pencil — second generation

Refurbished products, end-of-life products, and open box returns which are sold as-is are not eligible for this offer, which is valid only during the promotion period and while supplies last. Eligible products and promotion products are subject to availability. For each Eligible Product Category, only two promotion products per purchaser may be obtained during this promotion. You must be an individual end-user purchaser to obtain this promotional offer. Resellers, public entities, government entities, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, education purchasers, enterprise purchasers, and business purchasers do not qualify, and Apple reserves the right to cancel purchases made by such purchasers. If Apple determines that you participated in this promotion but were not a Qualified Purchaser, Apple will seek a return of the Promotion Product, or reimbursement for the value of the promotion product. Purchases of Eligible Products via any channel other than any of the Qualifying Locations are not eligible for this promotion.

Other terms and conditions — including those of gift cards from Apple — apply.

Final Boarding Call

As a user of products from Apple for years, I still purchase products from them — but not as many or as often as I used to purchase them, as both the quality of their products and the excellence and ease of customer service have deteriorated somewhat over the years, according to my experience. I am still debating about whether to write an article about my experience of purchasing a new iPhone 12 Pro, which was technically less than satisfactory — even though the outcome seems to be okay.

Unless you really want or need at least one of the products which are eligible for this promotion, you will likely be disappointed and not want to take advantage of it after all. Although the products themselves are indeed new, most of them are not the latest models or most powerful versions of the products.

I suppose you could probably convince yourself to purchase at least one item and use the maximum number of gift cards towards saving money on the product from Apple which you truly want — but you would need to determine whether spending that extra money on an eligible product to save money on the product you want is a wise strategy…

…but as for me, I will likely avoid participating in this lackluster promotion from Apple.
