With All of These Offers, Now is a Great Time to Be a SkyMiles Member Based in the State of Washington

D elta Air Lines is actively courting residents of the state of Washington in its bid to become the dominant airline in Seattle. If you are based in the state of Washington, you can take advantage of a number of offers from the SkyMiles frequent flier loyalty program of Delta Air Lines — especially if you are not yet a member — and the offers include free SkyMiles; earning elite level status after only two round-trip flights; and even a sweepstakes local to the greater Seattle metropolitan area.

Here is the breakdown of those offers…

With All of These Offers, Now is a Great Time to Be a SkyMiles Member Based in the State of Washington

Become a new member of the SkyMiles frequent flier loyalty program by Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 11:59:59 in the evening Pacific Standard Time and you will enjoy certain perks and benefits — as a way of celebrating the expansion service offered by Delta Air Lines in the greater Seattle metropolitan area — but you must:

  1. Be a resident of Washington state with a verifiable address
  2. Not have yet been a member of SkyMiles prior to this promotion; and
  3. First enroll for this promotion prior to any qualifying flight activity, as flights flown prior to enrollment do not qualify for this promotion

5,000 SkyMiles After Completing Your First Round Trip Flight

Upon completion of the first qualifying round trip flight operated by Delta Air Lines or Delta Connection departing from and returning to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on or before Wednesday, November 30, 2016, 5,000 bonus SkyMiles will be deposited into your new account.

Bonus SkyMiles do not count toward Medallion elite level status or Million Miler status.

Double Bonus SkyMiles

Mileage accrual is doubled for all qualifying round trip flights operated by Delta Air Lines or Delta Connection departing from and returning to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport which conclude on or before Wednesday, November 30, 2016. Double miles are awarded from the respective Medallion status multiplier; but not on any bonus SkyMiles.

Bonus SkyMiles do not count toward Medallion elite level status or Million Miler status.

Gold Medallion Elite Level Status After Completing Two Round Trip Flights

Receive complimentary Gold Medallion elite level status through Tuesday, January 31, 2017 upon completing two qualifying round trip flights operated by Delta Air Lines or Delta Connection departing from and returning to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport which conclude on or before Wednesday, November 30, 2016; and the complimentary Gold Medallion elite level status will become effective the day following your completion of required flight activity — if you meet the criteria to participate in this promotion.

Your complimentary Gold Medallion elite level status cannot be combined with any existing Medallion elite level status; and it will not extend any current or future Medallion elite level status which you have earned. Your complimentary Medallion elite level status will return to the applicable Medallion elite level status for which you qualified during the Medallion year after your complimentary Gold Medallion elite level status ends.

Terms and Conditions

Tickets with E fare class — also known as Basic Economy — are excluded from this offer, as only those round trip flights purchased with a published fare which earn SkyMiles mileage accrual are eligible. Award, Miles + Cash, free, barter, pass travel and certain tickets — including but not limited to bulk, consolidator, cruise, vacation packages, inclusive tour and other tickets where the fare is not disclosed — are not eligible for this promotion.

During the complimentary period, you will not have access to reciprocal Medallion benefits with partner airlines of Delta Air Lines and Rollover Medallion Qualification Miles — unless you earn Medallion elite level status through the normal published requirements.

Please refer a customer service representative of Delta Air Lines to promotional reference code 168501.

Bonus SkyMiles will post within eight weeks of completion of qualifying activity.

This is a one-time offer. Multiple enrollments are not allowed; and promotional bonuses associated with multiple accounts will be voided. Offers and benefits are subject to change without notice. Bonuses apply only to the traveling SkyMiles member. This offer cannot be combined with other offers from Delta Air Lines or the SkyTeam alliance.

Other terms and conditions apply.

New Delta Air Lines 12status Program

12status program

Source: Delta Air Lines.

The new Delta Air Lines 12status program was launched in conjunction with the Seattle Seahawks professional football team — and it is open to legal residents of the state of Washington who:

  • Are 18 years of age or older
  • Are either new or existing members of the Delta Air Lines SkyMiles frequent flier loyalty program
  • Register here for the 12status program prior to 12:00 midnight Pacific Standard Time on Monday, February 6, 2017

Your registration will be linked to your SkyMiles account; and there is a limit of one registration per person.

Earn 1,200 SkyMiles Just For Joining as a New Member

If you are enrolling for a SkyMiles frequent flier loyalty program account as a new member at the time of registration of the 12status program, you will earn 1,200 SkyMiles. SkyMiles accounts are subject to verification of new member status, as existing SkyMiles members will not be eligible for this qualifying event.

Earn One SkyMile for Each Passing Yard

Earn one mile for each passing yard accumulated by the Seattle Seahawks during a regular season home game and recognized officially by Sportradar.

Earn 1,200 SkyMiles For Five False Starts

At the home game of the Seattle Seahawks scheduled to take place on Thursday, December 15, 2016 — or other home game to be determined by Delta Air Lines — if the fans in the stadium create enough noise to cause five false starts for the Los Angeles Rams, you will receive 1,200 SkyMiles. False starts by the opposing team will be confirmed by final published game statistics. You can receive a maximum total of 1,200 SkyMiles via this qualifying event.

Earn 500 SkyMiles for Every 12,000 Eligible Individuals Who Register for the Program

For every 12,000 eligible individuals who register for the program, each participant will receive 500 SkyMiles.

Sky360 Upgrade Sweepstakes

Prior to each regular season home game, Delta Air Lines will conduct a random drawing to select two potential winners of two Sky360 seats — valued at $770.00 per pair — to the next home game of the Seattle Seahawks. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible participants at time of drawing; and no purchase is necessary to enter.

Other 12status Program Benefits

In addition to the opportunity to receive SkyMiles through the 12status program, Delta Air Lines may also offer you the following — but may not be limited to:

  • Free giveaways at Seattle Seahawks home games
  • Free giveaways at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to participants who fly as passengers on airplanes operated by Delta Air Lines during select regular season away games
  • Priority boarding at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport — although this benefit may not be available on all flights operated by Delta Air Lines — as 12status boarding at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport will occur after Sky Priority and prior to Zone 1; and it will be active for flights operated by Delta Air Lines departing from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport from through Sunday, February 5, 2017

Any giveaways or other program benefits will be subject to their own terms and available while supplies last. Select merchandise giveaways may only be available to participants who are 21 years of age or older. Valid identification may be required. There will be a limit of one item per giveaway per participant. Giveaways may include additional restrictions — such as older age of eligibility. Items are provided “as is” with no warranty or guarantee.

In order to receive any 12status program benefit, you will be required to show proof of 12status program membership in a form acceptable to Delta Air Lines.

Select Terms and Conditions

You will receive SkyMiles based on the aforementioned qualifying events which occur following your successful completion of the registration process for the 12status program. SkyMiles will not be awarded retroactively.

SkyMiles will be deposited to your SkyMiles account every Tuesday following a regular season home game of the Seattle Seahawks; and can be viewed by logging into your SkyMiles account.

Other rules, terms and conditions apply — be sure you read them carefully and agree with them before participating in the 12status program, which includes the Sky360 upgrade sweepstakes — including but not limited to those dealing with:

  • Privacy and personal information
  • Release and limitations of liability
  • Selection and verification of winners
  • Winner notification procedure
  • Disqualification of participants
  • Rights
  • Publicity
  • Tax liability
  • Technical issues
  • Legal waivers and statements
  • Unclaimed prizes
  • How to find out the name of the grand prize winner
  • What can potentally happen in the event of a dispute
  • Burden of proof of submission of entry
  • Typographical errors
  • Other disclaimers and conditions of participation

I believe that the name 12status represents the “twelfth man” on the Seattle Seahawks team — the spectator who cheers on and supports the team. Delta Air Lines has demonstrated solid support in recent years as the official airline of the Seattle Seahawks — to the point where it mistakenly favored them in a playoff game over the Minnesota Vikings, which is another team of which Delta Air Lines is the official airline.

One of the most valuable benefits of Gold Medallion elite level status when traveling as a passenger on most international itineraries outside of North America and parts of South America is complimentary access to airport lounges operated by airlines which are members of the SkyTeam alliance.

Remember that normal qualification criteria include accruing the minimum amounts of Medallion Qualification Miles and Medallion Qualification Dollars to achieve Gold Medallion elite level status — meaning that you will need to spend at least $6,000.00 Medallion Qualification Dollars and earn either 50,000 Medallion Qualification Miles or 60 Medallion Qualification Segments.

Add 5,000 bonus SkyMiles plus any bonus double SkyMiles and other components of the aforementioned offers — and you have promotions which are difficult to resist…

…but I have to admit that I miss the days when Delta Air Lines had promotions similar to this one which were open to all members of the SkyMiles frequent flier loyalty program — such as this popular one where you could have earned both double Medallion Qualification Miles and up to 50,000 bonus SkyMiles per round trip if one of the airports on your itinerary included Raleigh-Durham, Saint Louis, Nashville and Pittsburgh.

That was an amazing and lucrative promotion for frequent fliers — and it occurred prior to the introduction of the requirement of earning Medallion Qualification Dollars on Wednesday, January 1, 2014. Too bad Delta Air Lines is not opening up the aforementioned promotions in this article to all of its members of the SkyMiles frequent flier loyalty program in order to promote using its hub in Seattle as a stopover or connecting point to other flights — but this is 2016 and not 2010; and a lot has changed over those six years.

Regardless, this is a great time for residents of the state of Washington to be a member of the Delta Air Lines SkyMiles frequent flier loyalty program — and do not be surprised if additional generous promotions are offered in the future to residents of the state of Washington by Delta Air Lines.

Geez you should be working for DL! Dl is doing anything they can to get people in the NW to switch, this has been going on for a while now. But Dl has a history of these kind of moves and rarely sustain them .

I live in Seattle and signed up for the 12status promotion. By the way, 12th Man is owned by Texas A&M, which is why the Seahawks have moved to “12s” and other things like it. Anyway, I will gladly take their points and I’m sure I’ll use them at some point. I’m at 240 after the first game. But after 8 home games and enough people signing up, I’m guessing it will end up at 3k-4k in total points for 60 seconds of my time. Nothing to complain about there.

Thank you for that information, Mark — and rack up those SkyMiles!

I too live in Seattle and it will take a lot more than some Delta sky-pesos and faux status (good for a whole 4 months) to get me to join. Alaska was here long before and will be here long after Seattle is no longer the flavor of the month for Delta. Witness Delta’s carpetbagger tone-deaf “You can’t stop Seattle” (really ? Wasn’t aware anyone was trying.) marketing campaign to see how NOT to ingratiate yourself with the locals. PATHETIC.
