As part of a comprehensive brand refresh of Hilton Garden Inn, you could win Hilton Honors points simply by visiting the restaurant located within any Hilton Garden Inn hotel property; ordering a drink, appetizer, meal or dessert; taking a photograph of the experience; and uploading it to your Instagram and Twitter using #HGIeatdrinksharecontest and tag @HiltonGardenInn.

You must ensure that you are a member of the Hilton Honors frequent guest loyalty program for your chance to win Hilton Honors points.

The promotion is meant to highlight the changing dining preferences of consumers with healthier and more on-trend menu choices, premium varietal wines, national and local craft beers, handcrafted cocktails and small plates to be offered at Hilton Garden Inn hotel properties.

Known as Simple Things on Another Level, the new multi-million dollar global marketing campaign and comprehensive brand refresh for Hilton Garden Inn focuses on food and beverage updates, new hotel prototypes for each region of the world and brand culture enhancements across the portfolio of greater than 720 hotel properties located in 33 countries and territories.

Key enhancements to food and beverage “include a new, open-display kitchen for signature cooked-to-order breakfast dishes, and a more social setting for restaurant and bar service. The latter includes a comprehensive array of handcrafted cocktails, which will be complemented by small plates, dinner entrees and shareable desserts. In-room dining and fresh coffee from an in-room Keurig® coffeemaker will continue to be available to all guests”, according to this official press release. “Another element of the F&B refresh is enhancing The Shop, a 24-hour, grab-and-go retail space offering an upscale mix of healthy, indulgent and fresh foods. Included are items such as fresh salads, locally-sourced food and craft beers, snacks and beverages, and a specialty, self-serve coffee bar.”

Features of six new customizable hotel prototype flexible design options — one for each region of the world where the brand operates — include increased natural light; pod-style check-in areas; and meeting spaces with multi-functional features to quickly adapt to a wide variety of guest needs.

Employees will be trained to effuse ebullience to customers as part of the refreshed brand, ensuring that guests feel as thought they are a priority to the staff by “smiling at every interaction, findings ways to brighten guests’ stays and always adding that personal touch.”

At this time, I could not get additional information or details pertaining to this promotion — including when it ends; how many Hilton Honors points you could win; or if there are any limitations.

When I stay at Hilton Garden Inn hotel properties — such as the ones at Krakow Airport or Calgary Airport or Tampa North — I know what to expect; but I rarely dine in the restaurants which are on-site. The experience for me is perfect for when I am not in the mood to experiment with lodging options and simply want a clean, comfortable place to stay at a reasonable price…

…but room rate increases are not uncommon with “brand refreshes”; and that is the main trepidation I have with this news. The Hampton Inn brand was thoroughly refreshed years ago; and while it needed it, the room rates at many hotel properties subsequently increased significantly.

Although there are always ways to improve the experience of guests, I personally do not believe that a sweeping brand refresh was necessary for the Hilton Garden Inn brand…

…but the DoubleTree brand may be another story
