New California Declares Independence From…California

Californians will supposedly go to the polls in the spring of 2019 in a historic vote to decide by referendum if California should secede from the United States and become an independent country

New California Declares Independence From…California

…but that effort may be interrupted by a large area comprised of 17 counties in California which declared independence from the rest of the state as of Monday, January 15, 2018, according to this document:

After years of over taxation, regulation, and mono party politics the State of California and many of it’s 58 Counties have become ungovernable. The nature of the State becoming ungovernable has caused a decline in essential basic services such as education, law enforcement, fire protection, transportation, housing, health care, taxation, voter rights, banking, state pension systems, prisons, state parks, water resource management, home ownership, infrastructure and many more.

The geographic area in question would be known as the state of New California; and it already has a state flag and a variety of maps. Reasons for the establishment of the state of New California are listed here; as well as statistics such as the following:

New California will be the 6th largest State behind New York (bigger than Illinois and Penn), It’s Estimated 25-27 seats in the US House of Representatives will go to New California   Old California will become the 2nd most populous state behind Texas and ahead of Florida, losing 25-27 seats in the US House of Representatives   The 5 Southern New California counties have a population of just over 11million If they were to break away they would be a state the size of Ohio, probably larger as some other counties might join.

Summary

The supposedly burgeoning future 51st state of the United States already missed the deadline of its goal “to be at 40 ratified counties by January 1, 2018” — both in terms of the date and number of counties. The probability of a new state for you to visit — and “collect” — is still low at this time.

Also, northern portions of California want to secede and become the state of Jefferson — and of course, that does not include the possibility for the District of Columbia to become a state as well.

The naming of the new state is interesting. All of the states which begin with the word new — New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire and New Mexico — did not secede from states in the United States called York, Jersey, Hampshire and Mexico; and states which share a name typically have a direction in front of them: North Dakota, South Dakota, North Carolina, South Carolina, West Virginia and…Virginia.

Perhaps the name of the new state should further differentiate itself from the rest of present-day California — lest it is to suffer the fate of eventually tumbling into the sea

    1. You are just trying to get me in trouble here — aren’t you, Gene?

Thank you for the laugh. I appreciate it…

  1. their map made no sense. Santa Clara County, where San Jose and the core is Silicon Valley is, has nothing in common with the I-5 corridor at all.

And Orange County, for their first time in history, voted Democrat in a presidential election.

  2. No surprise that New California would want to break off and be loyal to the Union after Governor Jerry Brown said California would obey federal laws over his dead body. West Virginia did the same when the rest of Virginia rebelled under fellow Democrat and State’s Rights Advocate, Jefferson Davis. The rebels on the coast can take up the battle hymn “Jerry Brown’s Body.” Wonder which Union general will get the job to burn Sacramento and carry out the new March to the Sea…

  3. There’s been a long, low whine from the more agrarian areas of California that the politics of LA and SF (and Silicon Valley) do not represent the conservative views of Central and (more) Northern California. Missing from a lot of the arguments, though, is how these “oppressed” areas benefit greatly from the relaxed immigration policies (read: farming and ranching) they would prefer be implemented as per the Replublican party line, which is consistently a pillar of the bitching and moaning these folks do. Nobody in CA really takes them seriously because the hypocrisy is so blatant and the lack of understanding of the politics and economics of the state so apparent when you listed to many right-leaning Californians. That’s all in addition to the two great points henry LAX makes above.

  4. Can you blame them? Has anyone been to San Fran lately. Absolutely disgusting. Bums everywhere, urine and excrement on the streets, two blocks from Fisherman’s Wharf. Tons of bums everywhere else. Some need mental help. Some just choose to live that way. City does nothing. I for one will never take a vacation to San Francisco ever again. It has become an absolute cesspool, and the shame is that it is a great city.

  5. Yawn. This is BS, primarily because the New California folks dance around the fact that the California Legislature will agree to this sometime after hell freezes over, and their agreement is required by the US Constitution.

  6. I forget – did Virginia give West Virginia the right to break away or did it loose that right because of its rebellion? Strange times we live in – the last time we had such a hated and ridiculed President his name was Lincoln and he became arguably the most respected President of all time. Watch out if some little girl named Grace Bedell writes Trump and urges him to grow a beard.
